STARK for copy of will and all info on his family.
Died 8 Sep 1730. He had 4 children. First Congregational Church records at
Stonington show that he and his wife Elizabeth and two eldist united with that
church in 1698. In 1705, in his house in Groton, the First Baptist Church was
organized. He gave the land for the meetinghouse, the burying ground and also
twenty acres to the pastor, Rev. Valentine Wightman. He signed the deed
Sergeant William Stark, and was the first deacon of the Church.
He was buried in Wightman Burying Ground.
