William and Polly STARK were living at Searle Flats, across the river, at the
time of the Wyoming massacre. That night they made their way to the
Wilkes-Barre fort. That same night about 100 of them, men, women and children,
started for the Delaware River, and finally found their way back to their old
home in Dutchess Co. Made their home there until 1788 when they were again
living on the old farm on Searle Flats, but about 10 yrs later went to NJ, then
moved to Chester or Orange Co, NY.
